The Star is the home of the Cultural conspiracy arts movement set up to promote
creativity locally and has become a popular venue for live music.
We welcome music of any genre here and will just as comfortably host a Sunday afternoon
of Jazz as a Saturday night rock gig. We encourage original song writing and musicians;
vocalists and lyricists can showcase their work every Thursday night at our popular
and buzzing Open Mic or at our "Third Tuesday Live" shows. Audiences at the Star
are certain to experience a rich variety of musical styles in a convivial atmosphere
while enjoying great local live music with a beer or glass of wine in hand.

Check out event listings for live music at the weekends. Anyone interested in a
gig can send in a demo CD or even better pop along to Open Mic.
Open Mic
Every Thursday throughout the year from 8:30, these informal nights are an eclectic
mix of music of all styles. Just turn up before 9:30pm, put your name down on the
list and give us 3 of your best!
3rd Tuesday Live
New from Autumn 2008: Every third Tuesday of the month we feature one, two
or three invited musical acts showcasing their talents from 8:30 to 11:30.
